Can be due to SELinux. If it is... Say you're sharing out /disk2/dir1/dir2: chcon -t samba_share_t /disk2/ chcon -t samba_share_t /disk2/dir1/ chcon -t samba_share_t /disk2/dir1/dir2/ and restart Samba.
