I was using
.antMatchers(NO_AUTHENTICATION).permitAll()
which was a String[] of paths, but I had to change it to
.requestMatchers(antMatcher(LOGIN_PAGE)).permitAll()
.requestMatchers(antMatcher("/static/**")).permitAll()
.requestMatchers(antMatcher("/js/**")).permitAll()

etc
etc
which I feel is more messy
