Happens with CDROM drives, usually means the OS can no longer read from the drive, this is an indication of the drive spinning down, bad sectors or an error in the driver. As a second point seperate your cdrom to another IDE cable you shouldn\'t have CD on master IDE.
If this is a hard drive, back up all of your data NOW. It is about to fail.
