On x86_64 machines, it is possible that mplayer will select ffmpeg for wmv decoding, so the output will be something like this: Requested video codec family [wmvdmo] (vfm=dmo) not available. Enable it at compilation. Opening video decoder: [ffmpeg] FFmpeg\'s libavcodec codec family Selected video codec: [ffwmv3] vfm: ffmpeg (FFmpeg WMV3/WMV9) This means that there will be video, as well as audio. I didn\'t try other builds, but this is for recent ones, relative to today, July, 2010. On Ubuntu, official repos, mplayer is heavily outdated, some ppa\'s will have a better solution, but it\'s best if you just grab the svn source and compile it yourself. No need for special arguments at ./config.
Install win32codecs and use MPlayer for this file, not xine.
Sorry, just upgrade to the latest version of Win32Codecs.
Use 32 bit version of MPlayer. win32codecs cannot be used in x86_64
