I used to have this problem. This is a solution with what i can remember, it may not be too accurate. Problem : You are trying to launch smbd daemon but samba can\'t bind on netbios port. Solution : a - verify that no more smb server is running in background (zombies, or else). b - verify that nothing is listening 139/tcp on 0.0.0.0 (which means any address). try something with \'lsof -i tcp\' or \'netstat -ln\' depending on your os. If you\'ve found something, stop it or reconfigure it to listen to anoter port ; unless it is not another samba daemon. There is also some bugs referenced to samba on this socket creation. try to patch it to the latest version if nothing works. cheers, nicolas.verriest--@nospam@--gmail.com
