Install php-posix worked for me!!!
yum install php-process (php-posix will be provided)
on fedora based systems install php-process
Fedora and CentOS (maybe RHEL also): # yum install php-posix
USE=\"posix\" emerge -pv php
Install php-posix on OpenSUSE 11.1 solved my problem
Install php-posix
on suse 11.1 alt+F2 then kdesu yast2 then search posix and select php5-posix to install you may try install php5-posix, if does not work go as above.
# CentOS remi repository php 5.4.22 yum -y --enablerepo=remi,remi-test install php-process
