http://jdbc.postgresql.org/documentation/80/ssl-client.html#nonvalidating

Setting the connection URL  parameter sslfactory=org.postgresql.ssl.NonValidatingFactory  will turn off all SSL validation.

just to to be complete, the connection string would then look like 

jdbc:postgresql://localhost:54322/sales?ssl=true&sslfactory=org.postgresql.ssl.NonValidatingFactory
