Put PORTAGE_RSYNC_OPTS=\"--recursive --links --safe-links --perms --times --compress --force --whole-file --delete --delete-after --stats --timeout=180 --exclude=/distfiles --exclude=/local --exclude=/packages\" in the make.conf of the rsync server you\'re syncing from, resync the server, and then resync the client
I had to follow these instructions: http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/portage/doc/converting-manifest2.xml Then this:http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-325007.html (add FEATURES=-strict in make.conf)
